GREEN BREAD- THE MICROWAVE LOAF TO SAVE ENERGY
Here is a great, quick and very simple recipe for ‘Green Bread’…Worried about the energy used in baking bread the traditional way? If so why not try this way in your day to day cooking and save money and energy and still end up with a tasty loaf.
Ingredients
1lb of organic flour
1 tablespoon of olive oil or veggie cooking oil
1 teaspoon salt
pinch sugar
2 1/2 tsp of instant dried yeast
microwaveable bowl
Method
Mix all dry ingredients together and stir
Drizzle in the oil
Ad warm water and stir until dough sticks together- you want it nice and soft but not sticky
Knead adding a little extra flour if sticky
Plop into microwaveable bowl
Cover and leave to rise until doubled in size
Uncover and put into microwave and cook on 700w for 4 mins
Remove from microwave, take loaf out of container and cook upside down for about 1 min 30 secs
Remove from microwave and leave to stand
Cut when no longer hot
Makes a lovely soft loaf, great for sandwiches and so quick!! (ignore the pasty appearance)
