Come visit Mahone Bay during the Great Scarecrow Festival & Antique Fair, a town filled with hundreds of scarecrows to delight all! Here is a schedule of events for 2010. Check back for the 2011 schedule as it becomes available!
Magical Pumpkin Path
Jo-Ann and Linda will delight you once again with over 150 beautifully carved pumpkins. Belinda will add to the magic with her Celtic folk songs as you stroll along the path. Mulled cider will be on sale near the United Church parking lot. That's from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday nights. All carved pumpkins will be for sale on site at 9:00 pm Saturday night and at Jo-Ann's Market on Sunday with proceeds going to the festival.
The Great Scarecrow Challenge
Residents and businesses alike take part in The Great Scarecrow Challenge. Scarecrow artistry acknowledgements will be delivered on Sunday. If you would like to help out in any way call Jo-Ann at Jo-Ann's Market 624 -6305. Scarecrow kits will be available at the Market too.
The Antique Fair
Three halls again this year will be brimming with antiques from the most respected dealers from Nova Scotia and beyond. Just $2 per person gets you into all three halls.
Venues: Anglican Church Hall, Legion Hall, and the Mahone Bay Centre Friday, Oct. 1, 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 2, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 3, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.Photo Gallery
