Indian Point/ Mahone Bay Mussel Festival
May 22 - 23, 2010
Get ready for a great week-end of mussel tasting, wine sipping and all things mussels.
The second annual Indian Point/Mahone Bay Mussel Festival will take place May 16th & 17th in and around Mahone Bay.
Described as a spring celebration of local mussels and wine, the festival offers tours of the Indian Point Mussel farm, wine tasting by local wineries, a myriad of mussel dishes served up in the local restaurants, story telling and music.
The festival aims to encourage the enjoyment of our various local and seasonal food traditions. “There is a long, rich history here of making a living from the sea. We want to celebrate that and keep in touch with it – even as it changes…the goal here is to eat, drink and marvel at mussels.”
